Dr. Ryan grew up in rural Iowa, pursuing biology, chemistry and a detour into anthropology where he enjoyed teaching and performing academic research. Dr. Ryan ultimately found his calling in veterinary medicine where he could assist families with the care of their furry companions.

Reflecting on a decade of being a companion animal veterinarian, he finds building meaningful relationships with clients and the community, as well as, enjoying the varieties of personalities (big and small) in our furry patients are the rewards of the job he enjoys the most.

Ryan has specific interests in prompt care/urgent care medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and dermatology. He is grateful to be a part of Harbor’s team of collaborative veterinarians, dedicated technicians and compassionate assistants and reception team and is excited to help Harbor continue its tradition of community focused medicine.

Ryan’s decade of living in the PNW has been filled with gardening, feeding treats to his small flock of backyard chickens and exploration of our amazing wilderness through hiking and backpacking with his partner Alicia.
