DR. MAGGY BOWLING
Dr. Bowling grew up splitting her time between Ft. Worth, Texas, and Kansas City, Missouri. From very early on, she made it her duty to rescue any creature in need. She fell in love with her childhood dogs, Bubba, Gary, and Maxwell, leading her to pursue veterinary medicine later in life. She graduated early from high school and earned an associate degree in arts from a local community college. She then gained early acceptance into the veterinary program at the University of Missouri before moving to the Pacific Northwest.
What inspired you to work in veterinary medicine?
- My boxer Bubba used to get really bad allergies and ear hematomas. I remember wanting to ease his discomfort from a young age.
What do you love most about working with animals?
- I love that by resolving an issue, we can repay the kindness and loyalty they deliver to us. They are forever forgiving and teach me how to be a better human.
What are your special medical areas of interest?
- I love geriatric care, pain management therapy, and anesthesiology.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work
- I love anything having to do with the ocean. When I am swimming, snorkeling, or surfing, I am content. I also love yoga, hiking, and hammocking to keep the peace.
