Dr. Gehlen initially began her education in sunny California and completed her B.S. and M.S. at UC Davis. After the first part of her academic journey, she conducted her veterinary training at Washington State University (Go Cougs!) to be closer to her family.

Following veterinary school, she completed both a Rotating Internship and Specialty Internship in Internal Medicine at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital, Sorrento Valley (the premier specialty/referral hospital in San Diego California) to expand her knowledge and medical training. Her areas of interest include Oncology, Internal medicine, Ultrasound, Dermatology, and Preventative Medicine. She emphasizes establishing great client relationships and client education while caring for all her patients as if they were her own.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Gehlen enjoys teaching Cardio Dance and Zumba, paddle boarding, and spending time with her rescue Pomeranian puppy Oso.
