Dr. Carla Rasmussen graduated from Iowa State University and has been practicing veterinary medicine in Gig Harbor since she graduated in 1989. She was able to fulfill her professional dream by opening Harbor Animal Hospital on November 1, 2005.
When not at the animal hospital, Dr. Rasmussen enjoys spending time with her family, attending their numerous sporting events and being with her grandkids.
Dr. Beth Owen graduated from Kansas State University in 1986 and joined the Harbor Animal Hospital team in 2007. Her professional journey has included owning two veterinary hospitals in California, but she is happy to now call Gig Harbor and Harbor Animal Hospital her home.
In her spare time, Beth likes to paint, garden, hike, play piano and banjo. She enjoys kayaking and also teaching kayaking skills through the Mountaineers club. Her husband and her enjoy adventures with their grandson and with our dog, Charley.
Dr. Jim Wempe graduated from Iowa State University in 1980. Looking for adventure, he began his practice career with 7 years in Anchorage, Alaska and then moved to the “Alaskan-Bush” for 3 additional years. Dr. Wempe focus in veterinary medicine has always been to enhance the human-animal bond of pets and owners while preventing and treating their illnesses and discomforts.
In 1990 he moved to nearby Port Orchard where he owned Bethel Animal Hospital for 25 years and then briefly practiced at Cedar Creek Animal Hospital. In March of 2016, Dr. Wempe found his new practice home with the friendly and caring staff at Harbor Animal Hospital.
When not in the office, Dr. Wempe enjoys traveling with his family, exploring the mountains, trails and waters of the Northwest.
Dr. Christina Gray graduated from Washington State University in 2004. She has worked in the Pacific Northwest since graduation. She joined Harbor Animal Hospital in January of 2014 after moving to Gig Harbor. She enjoys getting to know her clients and patients, and works hard to improve quality of life for both.
Outside of the office she enjoys gardening, traveling, boating around the Puget Sound, and reading in the company of her cats.
Dr. Tomoko Kiyanago graduated from Colorado State University in 2011. Prior to becoming a Veterinarian, she worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician for a few years in Denver, CO. After completing a one year small animal rotating internship at Seattle Veterinary Specialists in 2012, she moved to Port Orchard and worked at Bethel Animal Hospital for one year and Cedar Creek Animal Clinic for several years. Dr. TK is also certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture and joined Harbor Animal Hospital in November of 2017.
Dr. TK enjoys crafting, hiking and walking with her Golden Retriever and going out to eat with her friends, when she is not working.
Dr. Pat Dorsey graduated from the University of Illinois in 1984. She moved to Gig Harbor the same year and began working full time for a local veterinarian's office. Several years later she transitioned to part time and worked as a relief doctor for several local practices, including Harbor Animal Hospital. In 2011 Dr. Dorsey joined HAH as a permanent staff member.
Dr. Dorsey is married, has two sons and an orange tabby, Chili. She enjoys travelling, tennis, and birding.
